Junior School Co-Curriculum

Today’s finger paintings are tomorrow’s Picasso.

Pupils are inspired to explore their creativity by involvement in a variety of stimulating projects.

Our aim is to encourage pupils to attain an excellent grounding in basic techniques, which includes work in a wide range of materials and processes from an early age. Art forms an integral part of every topic or theme throughout the junior school curriculum. Who knew Jackson Pollock could be linked to the Great Fire of London?

As one school, the Junior School makes use of the drama facilities on offer to the Senior School and use these for our productions including the Christmas Productions for Early Years and Key stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

As the children get a little older, we encourage them to audition for some senior school productions allowing them to not only benefit from the facilities but the specialist teaching and guidance.

Activities – something for everyone

Offering a diverse and comprehensive range of after school activities until 5:30 each day, there is something for everyone ranging from the academic led reading and mathletics to the variety of sporting options including football, rugby, hockey, cricket, netball, rounders, basketball, tennis, gymnastics and dodgeball.

Creative alternatives are offered in art club and some pupils even attend the Senior School drama session for roles in their productions.
