News from the Sport Department

Tuesday 28th November

U15 Hockey vs Bethany

A 1-0 victory for a group of girls who have improved in every game was a great way to finish the season.

Wednesday 29th November

U13 Hockey vs St Edmund’s

A bitterly cold afternoon changed the pre-planned format of the fixture with the girls playing 9-a-side to ensure more bodies were running around staying warm. Playing quarters instead of halves and rotating the teams, the Priory girls showed great resilience to finish on the right side of the scoreline.

Thursday 30th November

1st XI hockey vs Bethany

The last game of the season finished in a terrific 2-1 victory for the girls. In her last game for the College, and contributing a Player of the Match performance, captain Macy Hadler opened the scoring with a slick straight strike from a short corner, this after going 1-0 down. In the second half Valentine Kopf sealed the win with an impressive reverse stick shot. Of note in this game was Alicia Myers debuting in goal, saving a number of times. Well done girls.

Saturday 2nd December

1st XI vs Worth

Despite the manful efforts of a number of players, we encountered a very cohesive and skilful Worth XI, many of whom were playing their last match for the school. Effort was unfortunately not enough on the day however, and the boys will look forward to the midweek match against St Edmund’s and the Sunday fixture versus the ODs to make amends and finish the season on a positive note.

Interhouse hockey to look forward to this week, before the ODs visit on Sunday.

As ever,

Gareth Doodes.
